Recently I looked back at all the things I’d done on Zen Cart, one thing actually bothered me for a while, what is the optimal width to height ratio of product images? All the images on our current site www.mfrexpress.com have 2:1 W:H ratio, it looks good and OK, but when I try to view these images on my smart phone, I figured the W:H should be 1:1, it’s much easier to arrange the images with 1:1 ratio on small screens, on the big screen 1:1 images look nice.
In this mobile age we need to adapt or suffer the consequence, we have to optimize the e-commerce for mobile devices and mobile users, it’s the only way we can survive the coming mobile evolution.
