I am in the process of developing a social network website and i am not sure of the server space needed. Should i purchase a shared server or dedicated hosting? What specifications should i look for?

bluehost.com for the first month.

then you can continue onto a dedicated server if you make money

btw if you type in "dedicated servers" in google you will find many "business like" servers costing around $400. There’s no need for that kind of bandwidth or disk space for a starter website

Dedicated Server. Although it’s quite costly than other hosting, but you are you are guaranteed for a reliable and 100% uptime. You are the only one using the resources, thus you are not sharing it with anyone else.
